the wallet is dead...and I'm happy about it

StarCrossed
I like the big races because of the excitement and deep fields, but they remind me that I have a lot of work to do still. And racing in Seattle was amazing. The scene is great. Having been in the top 5 in the early season Portland CX races I went in with a Big head thinking top 10 would be no issue.. but wow was I surprised by the depth of talent here. It felt like a USGP. I left it all out there on Saturday and only could manage 27th. Sunday I was determined to crack the top 20 and it was all going as planned until I plowed into a barrier full-speed as my pedal didn't release. I was trying some new things on dismounts.. not smart to do at full-speed and in a race. I quickly went from 18th to 28th after the crash and only had 2 laps to go so that's where I stayed. My neck knee and body are sreaming at me today from the crash, so it reminds me to focus and work again on technique. Even after 16 years of racing cyclocross you need to work on technique.
I was disappointed from the weekend, but my coach picked me up this morning and said "remember when cyclocross didn't start till October?" The season is early and I've got some work to do.
